Brick Award 26 Ceremony, Vienna

The International Brick Award 2026, celebrating some of the world's most outstanding brick architecture, took place in Vienna in June 2026.

Maria Gasparian was one of three pre-jury members responsible for selecting a shortlist of 50 projects from 849 submissions received from around the globe. The six winning projects demonstrate exceptional innovation, beauty, craftsmanship, and sustainability in contemporary architecture.

Maria was also commissioned by Wienerberger to design the Brick Award trophy in 2024. For the 2026 ceremony, the trophies were produced once again to the same design, with the addition of a new category: the Special Prize for Innovative Common Living Concepts.

The trophy celebrates the versatility of brick as a material that can be appreciated at multiple scales—from a single clay module to a piece of architecture. Manufactured in ceramic, the design highlights the enduring relevance and creative potential of fired clay in contemporary construction.

Further information about the trophy design can be found in the project portfolio: Brick Award Trophy.
